Saguaro Land

It never ceases to amaze me how something as big as a saguaro can emerge from the desert with so little moisture and rocky soil.   I guess that the long time that they live overcomes the lack of resources.  They take advantage of the spurts of rain and somehow survive.  It makes us humans look kind of small.
From afar they may look pretty harmless.  But when you get closer, the thorns appear and that keeps all but the most clever critters away.

But somehow resourceful birds have figured out a way to make a home and thrive among the numerous hazards.
Somehow these creatures have figured out a way to thrive among adversity.  May us humans learn to be as resourceful.
