Live Joyously

We are staying for two nights at the beautiful Hotel El Capitan in Van Horn, Texas. A day off the bike enables a morning walk to clear the mind. As I was walking near the edge of town, I discovered some interesting artwork that seemed to be made entirely from scraps, bits and pieces. I was lucky enough to meet the creator, Joy, as she was walking from her "Tiny Home" to her workshop. Joy is a retired school teacher, and has found her passion, creating her unique artwork - the ultimate in recycling! Joy is a gentle, sweet soul who reminded me that joy comes from within oneself. In these days of turmoil in our present government and our oligarch president, sometimes we need to reflect inward to find peace and remember that life truly is good. Thank you, Joy!

 Perhaps a Texas sized Katydid

A flying machine for pilot Paul C - maybe needs a little TLC to enable flight?

I didn't know boots grew on trees in Texas!

I wouldn't want to find this Texas sized scorpion in my sleeping bag!

Gayle praying for the salvation of her soul - beyond Hope?

A Wizard of OZ scarecrow - Dorothy made a side trip to Texas!

Tarantula and House Spider - everything is BIG in Texas
Joy's workshop and the entrance guard - enter at your own risk?!

Joy's "Tiny House" - conservation at its finest

Instant new friends at first meeting - Gayle and Joy

A good reminder - love, let go, and Live Joyously
