Day 28 Fredricksburg, Texas to Dripping Springs, Texas (Cabin on Barton Creek)

Day 28  So, this was mostly good, with a few miles on busy roads.  We did 62.1 miles and climbed 3,293 feet - lots of hills and valleys.  There were some great roads though, when we got off the main highways.  Here are a few pictures.

Now, we are still crossing flowing water as the torrential rains over the last several weeks are clearing.  As you can see, we only get out feet wet.

This is what an armadillo looks like taking a snooze on a back-country road.  I did not wake him up.
We did see what happens to high-level Microsquash execs when they get tired of the fast lane.
On the road we did meet a local biker, Hugh, who was fun to talk to.  He told us of the days when Lance Armstrong lived in the area and all the Lycra that rode bikes on the back roads.

We did arrive at The Cabin on Barton Springs.  What a nice place!!  Susan and Richard provided us a great dinner, and we made a fire to sit and talk around.  I also gave Richard a PayDay candy bar - his first for many, many years and probably not his last.

Here we are having dinner out on the porch!

Tomorrow we have to work our way around Austin, Texas, and we think we have figured out a fairly safe (but longer) route.  I will let you know.
