After passing grove after grove (or orchard after orchard) of pecan trees, I finally found a place to buy some pecans. Gus, the owner of Davis Mountains Nut Company, grows, harvests, custom blends and packages his own pecans in his little nut shop in Fort Davis, Texas. He has all sorts of favors that he can add to his pecans, and after sampling several different kinds, I settled on praline and key lime. And of course, a big bag of just plain pecans to make pecan pie when I get home.
