Day 23 Comstock Texas to Del Rio, Texas

Day 23.  Another wet day!  We have been in the rain for at least a week and a half, and we are getting tired of it!  There has been no sign of relief from this until Thursday, so we are taking a day off tomorrow.  Some hurricane coming across Mexico or something.
The mileage was 59 miles and believe it or not we climbed 2,928 feet - lots of valleys and hills.
Here are some pictures showing the terrain and the weather.  Pretty much rain all day.

One thing we found were in-room rules and instructions at the Comstock hotel.  Very specific.

We started out at Langtry, Texas where we let off yesterday.  The tube held, and the new tire worked great!
I wish we had more signs like this along I-84!
Along the way, with the climbs through the carved-out hills we could appreciate again the levels of limestone strata.  These start at the lower levels and change as we go up.  The sharp difference between the two types of limestone were amazing.

On the way today we stopped again at the J&P bar for lunch - the same place we had dinner.  Kim was our waitress/bar-maid again and the place was hopping.  She certainly has opinions.

About 3/4 of the way to Del Rio we crossed the Pecos river, just before it went into the Rio Grande.  It was actually very impressive!  They had lots of rules.  I can't imagine why someone would jump off the bridge, but who knows!?

There is a lot of railway history along this route and we saw several signs talking about how this was done.  I hope you can read these.

We ended the day, in the rain, in Del Rio.  It was a busy place, and not what we had become used to.  No matter, we adapted!  Keep that up!!
