Day 12 We hiked to see the Gila cave-dwelling

Day 12  We needed a day off the bike and we took one.  First, it was pouring rain - the left overs from hurricane Sergio.  Second, we needed to give our rear "seat-sites" a real rest.  So, we decided to drive up to the Gila cave dwellings.  It was about a 2.5 hour trip, but very worth the effort, despite the rain.  Here are some pictures from this effort, starting with the low clouds and rain.  If you ever are in the area, make this effort as it is worth the time and miles.  A very pretty and surreal place.

As we have said before, with all the rain , and locals tell us that this is an unusual amount, the plants have been turning all shades of green and bursting with flowers.  Here is a barrel cactus showing this.  Neat!
Tomorrow we bike much of what we just drove - back in the saddle again!!
